٢And when the stars fall,

Wa izan nujoomun kadarat

٣And when the hills are moved,

Wa izal jibaalu suyyirat

٤And when the camels big with young are abandoned,

Wa izal 'ishaaru 'uttilat

٥And when the wild beasts are herded together,

Wa izal wuhooshu hushirat

٦And when the seas rise,

Wa izal bihaaru sujjirat

٧And when souls are reunited,

Wa izan nufoosu zuwwijat

٨And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked

Wa izal maw'oodatu su'ilat

٩For what sin she was slain,

Bi ayyi zambin qutilat

١٠And when the pages are laid open,

Wa izas suhufu nushirat

١١And when the sky is torn away,

Wa izas samaaa'u kushitat

١٢And when hell is lighted,

Wa izal jaheemu su'-'irat

١٣And when the Garden is brought nigh,

Wa izal jannatu uzlifat

١٤(Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready.

'Alimat nafsum maaa ahdarat

١٥Oh, but I call to witness the planets,

Falaaa uqsimu bil khunnas

١٦The stars which rise and set,

Al jawaaril kunnas

١٧And the close of night,

Wallaili izaa 'as'as

١٨And the breath of morning

Wassubhi izaa tanaffas

١٩That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger,

Innahoo laqawlu rasoolin kareem

٢٠Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne,

Zee quwwatin 'inda zil 'arshi makeen

٢١(One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy;

Mutaa'in samma ameen

٢٢And your comrade is not mad.

Wa maa saahibukum bimajnoon

٢٣Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon.

Wa laqad ra aahu bilufuqil mubeen

٢٤And he is not avid of the Unseen.

Wa maa huwa 'alal ghaibi bidaneen

٢٥Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned.

Wa maa huwa biqawli shaitaanir rajeem

٢٦Whither then go ye?

Fa ayna tazhaboon

٢٧This is naught else than a reminder unto creation,

In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen

٢٨Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight.

Liman shaaa'a minkum ai yastaqeem

٢٩And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation.

Wa maa tashaaa'oona illaaa ai yashaaa 'al laahu Rabbul 'Aalameen
