٢On that day (many) faces will be downcast,

Wujoohuny yawma 'izin khaashi'ah

٣Toiling, weary,

'Aamilatun naasibah

٤Scorched by burning fire,

Taslaa naaran haamiyah

٥Drinking from a boiling spring,

Tusqaa min 'aynin aaniyah

٦No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit

Laisa lahum ta'aamun illaa min daree'

٧Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.

Laa yusminu wa laa yughnee min joo'

٨In that day other faces will be calm,

Wujoohuny yawma 'izin naa'imah

٩Glad for their effort past,

Lisa'yihaa raadiyah

١٠In a high Garden

Fee jannatin 'aaliyah

١١Where they hear no idle speech,

Laa tasma'u feehaa laaghiyah

١٢Wherein is a gushing spring,

Feehaa 'aynun jaariyah

١٣Wherein are couches raised

Feehaa sururum marfoo'ah

١٤And goblets set at hand

Wa akwaabum mawdoo 'ah

١٥And cushions ranged

Wa namaariqu masfoofah

١٦And silken carpets spread.

Wa zaraabiyyu mabsoosah

١٧Will they not regard the camels, how they are created?

Afalaa yanzuroona ilalibili kaifa khuliqat

١٨And the heaven, how it is raised?

Wa ilas samaaa'i kaifa rufi'at

١٩And the hills, how they are set up?

Wa ilal jibaali kaifa nusibat

٢٠And the earth, how it is spread?

Wa ilal ardi kaifa sutihat

٢١Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer,

Fazakkir innama anta Muzakkir

٢٢Thou art not at all a warder over them.

Lasta 'alaihim bimusaitir

٢٣But whoso is averse and disbelieveth,

Illaa man tawallaa wa kafar

٢٤Allah will punish him with direst punishment.

Fa yu'azzibuhul laahul 'azaabal akbar

٢٥Lo! unto Us is their return

Innaa ilainaaa iyaabahum

٢٦And Ours their reckoning.

Summa inna 'alainaa hisaabahum
